Introduction Hello all! Recently, there was a breach in a MyM Staff member's forum account. Due to this incident, the staff team came together and reached a decision on improving the security of a staff member's forum accounts and the overall safety of our community. With this incident, we are now requiring all members of staff to have 2 Fact Auth setup for their forum account. Below will be a guide that has been shared with higher-staff and we are now bringing it to you as well to help you and your forum account stay safe. The official policy for the MyM Staff will be listed below as well so all members of MyM know the steps we are taking to protect our community.

Policy With this guide, comes a new policy for MyM Staff members. Due to a staff member's forum account being compromised, the Administration and Management team discussed and then asked the staff team their opinions to help prevent this from occurring in the future. Members of MyM Staff team will be required to have 2 Factor Authentication setup and enabled on their forum account.

Setting up Mobile Authenticator using Google Authenticator

Getting Started on Mobile With the forums ready, time to move on to getting your mobile phone ready.
    Apple:
Step 1. Download an Authenticator app. We recommend using Google Authenticator as it works on all mobile platforms and is pretty similar in design and ease of use on each OS.
    Step 2. Click Begin Setup
Step 3. Click + in the top right corner.
Step 4. Click Scan Barcode at the bottom of the UI.
Step 5. Scan the QR Code provided by the forums.
Step 6. Enter the code provided by your Authenticator app into the text box provided by the forums. Submit and enjoy!

Your mobile Two-factor authentication is now set up and ready to go. You will be asked for your 2 Fact Auth code every time you go into the forums unless you select the option "Trust this device for 30 days". With this option enabled, you will be force logged out every 30 days and will be asked to enter an authenticator code.

    Step 5.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns, do not hesitate to message me or another member of staff. From our understanding, there are some authenticator apps that do work alongside with Google Authenticator. We used Google Authenticator in our images as it is more uniform and supported by both Android and Apple.
