Hey guys, i am sure most of you are aware that there is a cool skyblock upcoming by FTB, based on infinity evolved expert mode.

I am curious if you plan to make a server when it becomes public, today they switched to closed beta 2, i somehow feel that public release is not very far away and that this is going to be a very cool and longtime fun pack. (for me maybe the last 1.7.10 pack i am planning to play)

I don`t know how the mym deciders stand to such things, but asking might be allowed:
I had a discussion on ts with several members and also an admin and they all were of my opinion, that for such a pack it`s maybe a good idea to disable most donor perks as it really destroys progression if you have access to resource kits, godmode etc... if not all of them. Yes i know, everybody likes cash and it`s needed to keep the servers going, maybe there can be some different ideas on how to encourage ppl to support the network.
I am a t5 myself and i wouldn`t mind the perks being disabled for such a pack.

Feel free to share your opinion and also tell it if it`s different to mine :)

To me its just another skyblock pack. No need to do anything to donor perks at all.

If you don't want to use the perks, then don't :)

I don't see the need to force other players to play in a way they don't want.

Specially if it is something they donated for.

Hmm have you played expert mode at all? If not you might not see my points..
There is a forced progression, it is intended by the modpack makers that you have to do A then B then C, and also cross mod progression.
Overriding this just for the sake of lazyness or having advantages over other players seems kinda pointless to me. Just an opinion :)

Yes, I am playing IE3 expert now.

Yes, there is a forced progression.

Having the donor perks doesn't get around the packs progression.

As far as having an advantage over other players, its a skyblock... the only other players are the ones on your block.

Its not PvP, having an advantage or not over other players is irrelevant

I feel that we need to disable the /shop kits at least since they destroyed the progression on normal INF Expert.[DOUBLEPOST=1456870571][/DOUBLEPOST]Im highly looking forward to this. Im almost certain we will have a couple of servers for it :D

Then I would say disable them across the board because they destroy normal progression on any server.

    Its just another skyblock pack.

I really don't see anything special about it at all.

It's not my choice if we're going to do that. But buying an AE system (which is end-game) just ruins gameplay. Mainly for you not anyone else.

Is there a thread somewhere that is following the pack changelog or are you just watching the people streaming?

Initially there was a 3 weeks circa ETA on slowpokes reddit post, this was 4 weeks ago.. Today he posted that it will take at least another 2 weeks of testing the new changes they made yesterday :(

But, at least we can expect cool and well balanced stuff :beaver:

I'm glad your Hyped about about the pack.

The only concern I have is on the removal of /op perks.

The idea is simple. If you don't want to use them. Then don't.

If You feel its cheating, then don't.

No one is forcing you to use them.

Why would you want to force any one else?

He was just suggesting that they were removed. No one has made the decision to do that.
