    Hey,

as a lot of people ask why this or this item is banned and why it looks like that we don't hesitate to ban items I'm gonna write down my own guidelines which I use before banning any item:

    Reasons 1. 2. 3.
Server crash or freeze2-3 crashes or freezes
    • nothing
    +3 crashes or freezes
    • is it a one time thing (some one build a multiblock too big or is sending too much items through a block)
    • how hard is it to solve if it corrupts the map (impacts the recovery time until players can join again without crashing the server again)
    • is the issue already solved with the next version of the mod
    • will it ever be solved by the mod author
    +5 issues per week
    • handing over to our developers
      • is the mod open source?
      • is a simple fix possible (e.g. try catch, null check)
      • is it possible to be solved within feasible time
    • how essential is the item according to game experience
    • how many people use the item
    Dupe bugs, exploits
    • how public is this glitch
    • is it possible to solve the bug with a small plugin
    • what is possible to be duped (only iron, only ores, endgame stuff or even everything)

    • how much does it impact the server and economy
    • what is needed for it (just a basic crafting table or late-game stuff)

    • how essential are the items we would need to ban in order to avoid it
    • is the problem already solved in the latest version of the mod or will there be one
    Server performance impact
    • what are the current TPS (lag)
    • how many players do complain about lag

    • how much does it impact the server performance (globally compared to other mods like applied energistics, rotarycraft..)
    • is it constant or shifting
    • handing to our devs
      • is the mod open source
      • is it possible to be solved within feasible time

    • how essential is the item/mod
    • how many people use it
    • is there a comparable replacement
If we (admins) are unsure about any part like "how essential the item is", "if there is a similar replacement" or "how many people use it" we ask the whole staff team.
